Reverb + Chorus:
All available settings for both effects !

Contents:
  1. Introduction
  2. Table of all reverb effect settings
  3. Table of all chorus effect settings

1. Introduction

The following tables contain all available settings for both effects. On the top of the tables you'll find the messages to enable the different effect types, below you'll find all adjustable effect parameters. Some effect parameters are only available for special effect types (please read the notes in the tables).

Effect parameters are 'Non realtime messages' - changing them during playback of notes will cause unexpected sound results. You should change these settings only at the beginning of a song or during a break of at least 0.5 seconds, when no sound is created by the XG synthesizer.

You can paste the SysEx strings directly from this page into you sequencer program, but you'll need to replace the variable XX with a valid hexadecimal value. In column 'Data Range' you can find the valid data range for each parameter. For some effect parameters (for example EQ frequency, reverb time, delay time, LFO frequency...) reference tables are available - such parameters can be adjusted accurately. The links in the right column will lead you directly to the referring table of my page Reference Tables.

The effect types and parameters in grey colour (marked with 'Optional') are optional and not required by the XG specification - so some XG tone generators don't provide them. Nevertheless they are provided by the Yamaha MU series (MU 10, 50, 80, 90, 100) and the Yamaha sound cards DB50XG, SW60XG and SW1000XG.

STAGE 1, 2 are reverbs appropriate for a solo instrument.
PLATE is a reverb simulating a metal plate reverb unit.
WHITE ROOM is a unique short reverb with a bit of initial delay.
TUNNEL is a simulation of a tunnel space expanding to left and right.
BASEMENT creates a bit of initial delay followed by reverb with a unique resonance.

CHORUS 1, 2 3 and 4 are conventional chorus programs that add natural spaciousness. CHORUS 4 has a stereo input - therefore the pan setting specified for the Part will also apply to the effect sound.
At programs CELESTE 1, 2, 3 and 4 a 3-phase LFO adds modulation and spaciousness to the sound. CELESTE 4 has a stereo input - therefore the pan setting specified for the Part will also apply to the effect sound.
FLANGER 1, 2 and 3 add a jet-airplane effect to the sound.
